Meghan is certified as a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) by the California Acupuncture Board, a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.) by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, and a Massage Therapist by the California Massage Therapy Council. She earned a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the highly respected Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado in Boulder, graduating at the top of her class from both schools. Her educational background has well prepared her to practice in today's integrative medical environment.
During her time at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Meghan interned in the student clinic under both general practitioners and practitioners who specialize in women's health and herbal medicine, at the free senior's clinic in downtown San Diego, at the San Diego Cancer Center in Encinitas, and at the Family Recovery Center in Oceanside. As a licensed practitioner, she advanced her studies in orthopedics and sports medicine by interning with Jordan Allen at AcuSport Health Center in Ocean Beach.
Meghan served the Pacific Beach and greater San Diego communities as part of the My Acu Spa team from 2011 until My Acu Spa closed its doors in August 2015, at which time she joined the Personalized Chiropractic team. She also served the Hillcrest community as part of the KOR Strength & Conditioning team from 2012 until KOR Strength & Conditioning relocated to North Park in 2014.
Meghan believes that individualized, holistic care aimed at finding and correcting underlying imbalances in the body is key and strives to understand the unique healthcare needs of each of her patients and customize treatments accordingly. She incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities into her practice, including acupuncture, Chinese herbs, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, tui na and massage. She see patients and clients for a wide range of conditions and wellness goals and has special interests in acute and chronic pain, stress, insomnia, headaches (including migraines), women’s health, endocrine conditions, gastrointestinal conditions and smoking cessation.
In her free time, Meghan enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, hiking, cooking and doing yoga and Pilates. Meghan is originally from Colorado.
